If you want to stay f2p, be aware of three things: The start is fun, until they stop showering you in energy and rewards.Īnd then you hit the hard progression roadblocks, where you need a specific subset of champions to do something. However, it has much less content (because newer game) and also some other issues (their progression/difficulty balancing is IMO not great past the midgame, and they have a Ninja problem except worse). There are other similar games that have obviously better "interface" or basic mechanics - Infinite MagicRaid is the one I'd call out, as it's pretty obviously a Raid clone that just cleans up a ton of QOL stuff (no food levelling, auto-star up function for food, multi-battles can run in the background even when you have the app closed, there's a set of key build-around legendaries that you can work towards without relying on pull RNG, unkillable buffs are paired with immunity to TM drop, stamina cap of more than 1000 plus you can move up to 5000 stamina into storage to retrieve later). I've not played it, so I don't know if it has even more.) (Summoners' War is the predecessor to Raid that's been going even longer. It's been going for 3 years, and they've kept adding bits to it, and now there's an enormous pool of stuff to do (and champions to use for it). Raid's big edge over its competitors is the depth of content. Just making this post because I felt the need to talk about how impressed I am with this game and hopefully I don't end up dissatisfied later on. Over the years of seeing the ads and thinking this was just a meme game for rich kids who only play mobile games I can say that I am acrually glad I startes playing.Īlso shoutout to HellHades for showing off that thos game can be good as a f2p player as long as your expectations are realistic. But honestly, this game deserves the money the whales spend on it. I should mention that I am f2p and don't intend to spend anything on this game. I haven't found another game in this genre that presents you with an actual enjoyable challenge early game and continues to add onto it the deeper you get. Every day I log in, I actually feel like I'm progressing and getting stronger/understanding the game more. I have yet to find a game more engaging than Raid. I have only been playing this game for just over 2 weeks now and might just be in the honeymoon phase still, but I don't think any other game comes close.
